Launch of the Quack Season Testnet Event
To celebrate the launch of the DuckChain testnet and extend the TON and DuckChain ecosystems to a broader audience of Web2 users, such as those on Telegram, DuckChain is introducing the Quack Season testnet event. This event aims to onboard more Web2 users into the DuckChain ecosystem by allowing them to experience the DuckChain network without the need for private keys or mnemonic phrases.
Account System in Quack Season
During this testnet event, DuckChain has partnered with Particle Network to implement an Account Abstraction (AA) feature, creating self-custodial smart contract addresses for users based on their Telegram accounts. This approach significantly lowers entry barriers by allowing even beginners to generate a DuckChain address with a single click. The AA address not only eliminates the need for private keys and mnemonic phrases but also allows transactions on the DuckChain network without requiring the native TON token as gas.
The Role of Star in DuckChain and for Users
Traditionally, users are required to deposit native tokens to interact with blockchain networks. For example, Ethereum transactions necessitate ETH to cover gas fees. This requirement creates a significant barrier to entry for many Web2 users interested in transitioning to Web3, as they must first acquire native tokens from exchanges or other platforms before starting their Web3 journey. Many Telegram users have not yet entered the TON ecosystem, and DuckChain seeks to lower these entry barriers by allowing every Telegram user to join the DuckChain ecosystem. To achieve this, DuckChain supports Star as a means of gas fee payment in addition to the native token, TON.
Star is a new feature launched by Telegram that enables applications to accept payments in Star. DuckChain supports cross-chain functionality with Star, allowing it to replace the native token as gas for transactions. This feature enables Web2 users on Telegram to interact with DuckChain without any entry barriers, paving the way for a broader audience to experience the DuckChain ecosystem through the use of Star.
Quack Season Event User's Guide
Link Telegram and Generate a DuckChain Address The process is primarily automated, requiring minimal user interaction. When users access the Quack Season event page, DuckChain will automatically link their Telegram account and generate a unique DuckChain address, which users can view directly on the page.
Recharge Star and Obtain testStar Users can click the "Click to Recharge" button, select the amount of Star they wish to recharge, and then complete the "Confirm and Pay" process. If the user does not have a sufficient Star balance, they must first recharge and pay via Telegram. Star recharged to DuckChain during this event will not be consumed; it will be redistributed to the corresponding user address upon the launch of the DuckChain mainnet. Note that recharged Star cannot be refunded or transferred and can only interact with designated contracts. Star recharges will be a key consideration for future airdrop eligibility.
Claim Test TON from the Faucet Each Telegram user can claim 0.1 TON from the DuckChain testnet every 24 hours. The amount and claim interval may be adjusted in the future based on network conditions.
Mint Duck NFT Each Telegram user is initially granted one opportunity to mint a Duck NFT. Users who recharge Star will receive an additional five minting opportunities. Users can choose to pay for the gas fee using Star, thereby completing a gas-free transaction, or they can use the test TON obtained from the faucet in step 3 to directly mint a Duck NFT. Holding a Duck NFT from the testnet will be considered for future airdrops, although it does not guarantee eligibility.
Invite Friends to Earn Additional Duck NFTs Users can earn an additional Duck NFT mint opportunity for every five friends they invite via a referral link. While there is no upper limit on the number of friends users can invite, we encourage users to experience the Duck NFT mint process using Star as the gas fee payment method.
